About

Rebecca Jane Howell is a singer-songwriter  based in the Central Goldfields of Victoria, Australia.

Rebecca's music combines honeyed tones with carefully crafted lyrics and melodies, reflecting a penchant for good old-fashioned songwriting. Delivered with a voice that is at once soothing and heart-rending, her songs can bring a smile and a tear in equal measure.

Combining classic indie-folk with a sprinkling of roots and country, Rebecca's influences range from Gillian Welch, Joni Mitchell and Emmylou Harris to Mazzy Star, Cat Power, Nick Cave and Joan Shelley.

Rebecca can often be found performing as a duet with long-time collaborator Marty McKenna, and is often joined by sister Cat Howell on vocals.

Rebecca and Marty were recently honoured with a Troubadour Foundation Award by music producer and folk music patron Andrew Pattison, and will soon be recording an album to be released in late 2022.
